Frequently asked questions

During my first session with students we will set and create goals for our learning. We will review our current knowledge and establish a procedure for monitoring our progress as we work together. We will get to know eachother and establish your preferred styles of learning so I can help you achieve to your highest potential.

I have a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning and a certification in School Administration (Principal). I worked as an educator in special education for five years and as an educator of students with highly diverse learning abilities and PTSD for over 6 years.

I began teaching as a paraprofessional during my freshman year of college, at a school for individuals with Autism and at a school for individuals with diverse abilities. I continued to work as a substitute teacher, tutor, and a research assistant for a major, national non-profit. Following my undergraduate education I sought my graduate credentials at the University of Pennsylvania where I earned my teaching certification and began teaching as a Teacher and was promoted to Teacher Leader at a high needs public school.

All students!

A 4th grade student in the public school district where I work sent a video of herself working through some of her social-emotional learning strategies, such as calming down rather than reacting.

Ensure that teachers are seeing your capacity to learn; not just learn one subject or conquer a topic but achieve anything you may need support learning. I am a proponent of process-orientation and growth-mindset. I believe in the power of understanding our brains' and how they learn which will open the door for us to absorb knowledge beyond our expectations.

When is a time I felt that I easily learned something? What was the content and context for that learning? Why did I learn the topic so easily? How did I learn the material? Who helped me learn this subject? When did the learning occur?

What are my goals for my learning? What processes do I have to learn?
