What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Step 1 is to get the student to connect and trust you. Once that has been established you can get to work in academics! Focus on 1 or 2 skills at a time to not overwhelm! Make learning meaningful and connect to real world experiences

Teacher in early childhood/kindergarten for 14 years
Masters in special education
Coach of many youth sports such as basketball and softball (pitching lessons).
How did you get started teaching?
Always have know I wanted to teach since 7th grade! I went to school for teaching right out of high school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students including those who may have ESL needs, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, medical fragile, Down syndrome, and many more disabilities.
I have also worked with many different kids who have mild to moderate behavior difficulties.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
