BJ's Science Tutoring

Hi! My name is Ben Johnson and I am a recent pre-medical graduate from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO. During my time as a college student, I had the opportunity to tutor as well as help as a teacher's assistant for a multitude of science related classes such as Anatomy and Physiology I&II, General Biology, Organic Chemistry I&II, and Biochemistry. Such opportunities helped me to discover how much I actually enjoyed helping others to understand the material being taught in the respective courses, and so I am now looking to continue doing that exactly!

As a student, I strive to understand the content provided from multiple aspects so as to be able to apply and relate it to corresponding topics and subjects rather than to only memorize the content for the upcoming exam, and I do my best to approach tutoring in a similar manner not only to help them also understand their course contents but also to help them to create healthy, efficient, and effective habits of learning that can be applied across the board in other courses. For example, one aspect of my techniques as a tutor is to obtain a solid understanding of how each tutee thinks so as to be able to assist them in a manner that suites their strengths as opposed to trying to force specific ways of thinking upon them.
