The Oxford Desk is led by award-winning educator Josie Barton. She holds a four-year degree in English with a minor in Education from Gardner-Webb University. During her time there, she received the English Department Award for Best Prospective Teacher, recognizing her excellence and promise in the field of education.

Josie also earned Beginning Teacher of the Year and has spent the past three years teaching in a high school English classroom, bringing both academic expertise and real classroom experience to her work.
