What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First asking the student what is confusing or what they don't understand about the subject, then asking what they like to do, for expample if the student likes music, a music video about the subject would be a good way to reach them and help them understand.
After that making lessons that will work for the student, help them grow on their own and love to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked at Summit Education as a teaching aid, for three years, teaching the ages 3-5 reading, writing, counting and basic math.
How did you get started teaching?
I began working as a teacher's aid in 2017, for the age group of three. When a child learns something new and you see their face light up with understanding, is something very important to me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from the ages of 3 years old, to first grade.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When I was helping a child understand read the word cat, he was able to not only understand, but point it out two days later. This was the first time I not only helped a child read, but see them apply what they learned to the world around them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at what the teacher offers, what teaching and more importantly how they are teaching. Look and see if it is a good fit for you and your life.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How to explain their needs to the teacher? Is this teacher the right fit for them? What do they offer?
