I've been teaching high school English for almost 15 years and have been working as a private tutor for 3. I tutor middle school and high school English Language Arts and all elementary grades and subjects. I love working with students to build confidence, knowledge, and grades!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I will get a sense of the student's individual needs, wants, and learning styles. Depending on the student's age, I may involve the student and/or parent in developing a tutoring plan. In some cases, I get permission to contact the student's teacher(s) for additional input. Then the work begins! It is most important for me to initially develop a rapport with a new student and gain a good understanding of the goal of the tutoring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in English from Rutgers University and obtained my teaching credentials in a post graduate program at Shenandoah University. I have been a middle/high school English teacher for 14 years. I have been providing private tutoring for 3 years and have served elementary children in all subject areas and middle/high school students in predominantly English/Language Arts.

My standard pricing is $30/hr, but I often negotiate a price based on individual cases depending on extent of services required or requested.
