As a seasoned K-6 educator with 20 years of experience, I specialize in teaching math and reading to students from elementary to high school. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's in Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate in Leadership. Throughout my career, I have consistently achieved positive student outcomes, as shown by school assessments. In addition to teaching, I contribute as a test item writer and reviewer, bringing valuable insights to support both students and fellow educators.

On a personal note, I have an elementary school-aged son and find joy in teaching him and witnessing his growth.

My goal as your teacher is to make learning math and reading enjoyable and rewarding. I take the time to understand where you might find these subjects challenging so I can provide effective assistance.

In math, we will use various strategies to enhance your understanding. This includes different problem-solving approaches, practicing key concepts, and using visual aids to clarify mathematical ideas.

For reading, we will focus on strategies such as summarizing, asking questions, making connections, and building vocabulary with important words from our reading materials. I also use engaging techniques like underlining or highlighting crucial parts of the text and using charts to organize ideas and make stories more understandable.

I encourage you to ask plenty of questions before and after our sessions to help your brain engage deeply with the material. Remember, it's perfectly fine to read things more than once. We can revisit parts as needed.
