Hi my name is Mariah Anderson and I graduated from high school in 2019. I currently have a high school diploma. I also have a transcript from high school. I have more than one year experience with teaching and tutoring. I helped my younger brother in mathematics and reading. . I taught him how to add and subtract numbers. I taught him how to count numbers and he learned his colors and how to count. I taught him how to read books and write sentences as well. I also helped students with subjects like math, reading, writing and Spanish language speaking. I really enjoy what I do. This is something I'm very passionate about.
The things that I enjoy about the work I do is that I get tutor students with subjects they need help in. I get to help them achieve their goals and become successful. I enjoy working with students because it's my passion and I am very confident in what I do. I am very organized, neat, patient, passionate, confident and friendly person. I am a very hard worker and I love to help students out.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with new students is that I want to help them achieve their goals. I want to teach and tutor them of what subjects and courses they need help in. I want to help them with what they need to.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have experience with working with my little brother on his school work. I helped him with his math, reading and writing assignments. I taught him how to add and subtract numbers. I taught him how to count numbers and he learned his colors and how to count. I taught him how to read books and write sentences as well. I also worked with a few students in mathematics and reading so far. I helped out a few students with there assignments and their school work.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started with teaching by helping my younger brother out with his school work and assignments he had. I helped him out with many things like his reading and writing. I helped him out with his math work as well. I helped him add and subtract numbers. I helped him count, with his letters, shapes, colors, animals, etc... I helped him read and write sentences too.
What types of students have you worked with?
The types of students I worked with is younger students. Students ages 5-18 year olds.

The advice I would give a student looking into hiring a teacher is that they need to look at someone's profile and see if it's what they are looking for. Make sure that they can help you out with what you need.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The questions students should think about asking before they talk to teachers is can you help me with this lesson? How many hours can I work with you? Do you teach this subject? How many subjects can you teach? Can you help me with this specific assignment?
