About
I am passionate about educating others and I have been fortunate to have received a highly formal education. I have studied, formally, under professors from Carnegie Mellon University, NC State University, and The University of North Carolina in Greensboro. I recieved a private schooling education throughout middle and highschool. I attribute my exceptional teaching and mathematics skills to the many great academic settings I have been exposed to.
To me, sharing mathematics always succeeds to be a delight. I feel honored by every opportunity to be the guide in exciting new domains of mathematics. No matter the level--exploring mathematics is a truly fascinating and formative experience. In fact, I believe there is so much more to elementary mathematics than is introduced in school, that it is my personal mission to share some of my best 'math secrets'.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I work hourly. The price varies on the subject matter and level. Please let me know if you need to negotiate a price.
How did you get started teaching?
My sister first involved me in teaching. She founded a community outreach program in which high school students would mentor elementary students at an adjacent school. I enrolled as a member in my first year of high school. Later in high school I would start my own tutoring service club, geared specifically to computer programming. Most recently I served as president of UNCG STARS corps--part of a nationally syndicated outreach program that promotes STEM education in minority groups.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have tutored all levels from K to 12th as well as undergrad students, and I invoke a specific emphasis towards leading students to solving challenging problems all by themselves as soon as possible.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Once, while I was out for a run in the city, I found a penny on the sidewalk.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would ask some sample questions in advance of hiring.
Then you can gage and assess the teacher's teaching style. It is important that concepts are explained to you in a way that feels intuitive and natural.
Some ideas are more difficult than others to understand, so it is especially important to see how a teacher responds to follow up questions and confusion.
Learning is an active process, not passive, if your teacher is monologing to you, that should be a red flag. Your retention and academic progress are far better served by what I would call an "educational dialog". To find a good teacher, look for one who asks more questions than (s)he answers.
I always recommend students and parents who contact me for hire to ask me a sample question or two in advance.
