About

I enjoy developing an understanding for math in students. Seeing the light go off in there head is inspiring for me, and I take pride developing a want to learn in students. I have tutored all throughout highschool for the honor societies I was in such as National Science Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta(Math Honor Society). I was also a member of Rho Khappa, National Honor Society, and the Engineering Honor Society at my Highschool. I am currently a Freshman at North Carolina State University, studying materials Science and Engineering. Outside of school I have experience working with kids thorugh my emplyment as a youth counselor at the YMCA, and as an umpire for my local recreational baseball league.

Chris is an excellent tutor. He is very patient and is focused on explaining the foundation of a mathematical procedure. My daughter made a great improvement in school after working with Chris. I am very satisfied and grateful for his service.

Frequently asked questions

I like to start off with conversation too make them comfortable, as I know it can be intimidating working with someone older than you, or when you feel like you do not know the material well. Then I like to set a goal, or task for our session, that way we can figure out what area of math we need to work on and try and get better at. After this I will ask to see the homework, or notes that they are struggling with, and we will work to develop those skills.

I tutored in High School for Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Science Honor Society. I also work with children at a local YMCA. So I have experience tutoring as well as working with children of all ages.
