Adonai's Math And SAT Tutoring
About
I have been tutoring for years. I first math tutored voluntarily at my high school to struggling students after school. I have a strong mastery of all high school mathematical concepts up until calculus. I also scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT (1500). I was an SAT tutor for the nonprofit student led organization, EduVisa.
I am passionate about teaching because tutoring other students gives me a constant challenge to better my own understanding of the material. Explaining a concept simply to another person is the test for whether you understand it yourself, as quoted by Albert Einstein. I believe in this because tutoring other students over the years has allowed me to test and further improve my own grasp.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I first want to guage their own understanding of concept/ skill by having them try some of the problems they say they find challenging. This allows me to accurately identify any gaps in their knowledge of bad habits.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a national merit finalist, meaning I scored in the top 1 percent on the PSAT. I also scored in the top 1% on the SAT. I worked with EduVisa, a nonprofit, student led SAT prep company to tutor students looking to score high on the SAT.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I don't have any standard pricing. I like to speak with the parent, or whoever is in charge, and discuss whatever they think is fair.
How did you get started teaching?
My first experience in teaching was in high school. I was the founder and president of math club, and one of the club activities included tutoring. I would stay after school and teach math to struggling students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with high school students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I received my national merit finalist status near the beginning of the year.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice that student to find someone that understands exactly what type of student they are and what kind of grasp they have on whatever they are tyring to learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before going to teachers, students should be sure to examine themeselves and be sure that they did everything they could to learn what they needed to learn.
