It's Never To Late To Appreciate English

About

The first recollection I have of actually knowing that Writing was something that came as second nature to me, was in High School when we were tasked with writing a persuasive article that would be graded on a scale of 1, 2, 3 or 4. I wrote my persuasive argument with a leisurely ease, not once second guessing myself; unaware that I was the only student at my school who was awarded a 4 for my efforts. From as early as I can remember, words were my friends. I was fascinated by the way they broke down to their roots, and was in awe of the power they possessed once organized in just the perfect order on a blank page. I'm currently in the process of writing my first novel, with the overall objective of being published. In High School, I won several awards and even received a scholarship for writing. In High School, I was largely responsible for every issue of our school newspaper and was responsible for the editing of our school yearbook. While at UNC Charlotte, my writing stood out as fresh and insightful, and in high school as well as my first semester of college, I had the honor of being published as an undergraduate. One of my greatest joys and accomplishments is when I am able to facilitate a student to their very own a-ha moment, when their own words resonate in them the power they posses. I understand that every mind is wired differently and it is my goal, thru getting to know my students a personal basis, to uncover the pathway in their brains that will allow them to become masters of their universe, and utilize the English language to make them captains of their own ideas instead of holding back or denying themselves the power the written word has to offer.
