Grow Fast Readers
About
I have worked with thousands of students in my time in education. Helping them grow is a passion of mine. I have studied a number of phonics programs and am also great with math. I have been able to move students in a relatively short amount of time. Seeing their confidence go from zero to hero has been the most rewarding.
I currently teach phonics and math in the elementary school. I have been working for the school for eight years. The thing I see the most is the need to really cultivate children's love of reading so they can be successful for many years to come.
If you allow me to help you, I will make sure that you grow to love reading or math.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to quickly assess where they are. I can do this by giving a quick quiz that would take about 10 minutes or less.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a elementary teacher that has really moved my students in reading.
How did you get started teaching?
It was something I always wanted to do since I was a child. It is just a passion of mine.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages 4-11. I have worked with struggling reader and math students. I have also worked with strong readers and math students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was able to take a struggling reader from a kindergarten level and move him up to first grade level in about a month and a half. I was also able to see the pure joy it brought him to be able to read suddenly.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give is to understand what is expected. You will need to make sure that you can do what is needed to grow. Also don't sign up for a bunch of sessions before seeing if you and the tutor are a good fit.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Will they be able to commit to consistent times?
Will there be work outside of the designated tutor time?
How committed are they for success?
