About
I am very personable and constantly intrigued by the different stories each person carries. For this reason, I have always enjoyed tutoring students of all ages as I am able to develop a diverse skill set that will prepare me well for communicating with different types of people, as well as allows me to support students with knowledge and experiences that I believe are valuable. I have tutored students for approximately five years. During my third year of high school, I would actively help my peers prepare for calculus exams, and develop study guides and plans to provide some guidance for self-studying as well. After this informal tutoring experience, I became a Teacher's Assistant for Honors Biology during my final year of high school; I was given the opportunity to help students understand and study content both in and out of the classroom. From the second semester of my first year to the present, I have been tutoring for an on-campus organization called Project STEP-UP. Our mission is to improve literacy and overall academic support for children in the East Cleveland public school system--especially students who do not have access to such resources. Through this program, I am able to tutor elementary and middle school students in the East Cleveland Public Library, and topics that I have focused on range from teaching how to read/alphabet to biology.
I deeply enjoy connecting with my students and getting them to that "aha!" moment with every lesson. I am very flexible with students' and parents' requests and suggestions, so please feel open to providing me with any resources you would like me to use for lessons. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or to schedule a lesson!
