I am currently a high school Spanish teacher and I love languages! I will help you reach your language goals whatever they are- understanding grammar, improving your accent to sound more natural, increasing your conversational skills and more!

Spanish language background

Although I am not a native Spanish speaker, I have more than 30 years of experience in speaking Spanish and I have near-native proficiency. I lived Spain for a year during college and studied at the University of Murcia. I am also married to an Ecuadorian so Spanish is very much a part of my every day life.

Educational & Work history

I have a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Spanish and I have a M.A. in Speech Language Pathology. I have worked with all ages of individuals to help them reach their speech and language goals. I have been teaching high school Spanish since 2019. I have worked with individual tutoring clients since 2017.

Angie creates a warm, friendly and unintimidating atmosphere where you easily learn and gain confidence in speaking Spanish. Her love of teaching and vast knowledge facilities lessons that are far more impactful than any other method I have used. Mrs. Acosta was my Spanish teacher from 6th to 10th grade. In her class, she made learning fun and engaging. I have not had another class where I felt I could learn the material so easily, efficiently, and effectively. She also explains the material well if you don’t initially understand it. For example, I didn’t really understand subjunctives, so I went to her after school. In those 30 minutes, I felt like a pro on subjunctives despite being less confident beforehand. Angie Acosta is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and she excels at what she does.
