Spanish Tutoring
About
My name is Sabrina, and I am a soon to be university student who's first language is Spanish and is fluent in English as well. I have tutored other students one on one as well as in small groups and have found out that not everyone learns the same way. I will help my students not only learn a new language but also understand it and its difference from the English language.
I really love working with people and watching them grow. It amazes me how they are able to learn many different things and use them on a daily basis. When working with my students, my goal is to watch my student exceed in a topic they did not know or understand before.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, my priority is for my student to be comfortable enough with me to want to learn. Second, I make sure to know just how much my student knows about the language so I am able to know exactly where to start. From there, I see how my student learns best and at what pace we should move.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although I do not have any certification in teaching, I have tutored other students one on one as well as in small groups. Spanish is my mother tongue and I am fluent in English, therefore, I am able to teach students to an extent that some others may not be able to.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $12 per hour for Spanish lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching during my time in high school. I was asked to become the Spanish teacher's helper at first, but that escalated to helping students more than being an actual assistant and then to tutoring the students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with different knowledge of the language. Some know more than others and some know nothing at all and starting from zero.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking to hire a teacher, I would tell the students to make sure they are comfortable with the teacher as well as making sure the teacher is not a scam.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about what exactly they want help with or if it is general tutoring they are seeking and not just a specific concept. They should also think about pricing.
