What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would do a consultation. This is where I will assess the student and see what is expected of me. We will complete a learning style quiz and also a sleep chronotype quiz as well. This way I will be able to know when and how to teach.
How did you get started teaching?
I found that the educational system was what I consider a "cookie cutter". It is based on a one size fit all. I found that the learning system was boring and a drag. I started teaching my self then moved unto teaching others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from many different countries. I have worked with high school students and also with pre-med and some med students as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would ask very details questions with how experience the teacher is in teaching the subject.
Did they themself do or take the subject and to what level was it completed
Any successes with any tutees.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is the problem I am having?
I am I not understanding the concept? or I am unmotivated because of how the subject was presented? Or do I just need a little help to get through the required course work.
