About

I specialize in the English and Reading sections of the SAT and ACT. I find the root of the issue--sometimes we may get back to the basics--so that you will build upon a solid foundation of knowledge. I tailor the learning trajectory to your specific goals and needs, so no two students' tutoring session will look the same. My time with you is all about you!

I love to see my students progress from feeling hopeless and stuck to confident and excited about the challenge in front of them. Building your confidence and setting you up to problem-solve independently is important and rewarding.

Frequently asked questions

I listen to your needs and concerns. We work toward reasonable goals that will build your confidence in your problem-solving skills. We'll figure out what learning styles work best for you.
Most of my students are tutored remotely. We use Zoom as our virtual learning platform.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Emory University and was recently accepted to a masters program in Marriage & Family Therapy. I have also taken both the SAT and ACT; however, I am up-to-date on the current versions of the exams.

My pricing depends on the student's goals and needs. While I specialize in SAT/ACT prep tutoring, I'm also available for other subjects and grade levels. SAT/ACT prep tutoring will cost higher than other services.

During my college years, I taught young pre-K students at Sunday School and volunteered to tutor refugee children once a week. In the past couple years, I taught English as a second language to refugee women. I also taught high schoolers in my community sporadically in the past several years.

Parents and students have approached me asking for help with SAT/ACT tutoring sporadically these past several years. I recently decided to pursue tutoring because I enjoy sharpening my teaching and relational skills with students.

I've worked with students of all ages and language backgrounds. Elementary school, middle school, and high school to adults learning English as a second language.

A student of mine recently sent me flowers for Valentine's Day. Her kind gesture touched me and reminded me how lucky I am to build meaningful relationships with students that go beyond a transactional knowledge exchange.

I would ask: do I trust this teacher to truly care about my success and would I feel comfortable asking questions about what I'm learning?

What am I having trouble with? What kind of questions am I always getting wrong?
