Pro Math Tutor
About
I have 20 year of experience teaching math in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th and Math 1 and I have been fortunate to have a lot of success being able to improve our students ability. I have also coached several teachers for the last couple of years on how to be effective teachers in math. My experience, deep understanding of math, and work ethic will be a tremendous asset to those students that chose to use me as their tutor.
I enjoy helping improve teachers and students. One of the things that appeal to me about math is there is a solution(most of the time). Their is always a solution when teachers and students come to me with problems and I am excited about helping them find it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to spend a few minutes getting to know the student and letting them know a little about myself. Then, I like to know what area of help the student needs. I am happy to reach out to there current teacher to get that information or in some cases, deepding on their age, the student knows and can tell me. Once we know what we need to focus on we can get started. I can provide resources or I am happy to guide the student through work they provide.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, with the remote learning we have been doing I have had the opportunity to work with my son and daughter and their school work. Just like me, I have discovered that they both have a love and talent for math. I have really enjoyed challenging them in math and helping them build their conceptual understanding.
I have also throughly enjoyed helping our math teachers build our online platform for our middle school students. There is a tremendous amount of resources available online now for math and we have enjoyed finding the best ones to meet the needs of our students.
