Wall Street Finance Tutoring
About
Currently, I am an investments analyst for a non-profit in Charlotte NC. Prior to this, I was in institutional sales for an asset management firm in Harrisburg PA. I graduated with a BBA from Stetson University, where I had a double major of finance and economics. While at Stetson I was the portfolio manager for the student led investments program, as well as being the captain on the CFA competition team, and working for a hedge fund in DeLand. Given my numerous professional experiences, as well as what I did at Stetson, I feel as if I'm a great tutor for both the content that our students are learning today, and I'm great for career guidance and advice. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I sit down with a new student, I start by looking at the material, and immediately ask them a few questions that I could see being tested. From there I see where they are struggling the most, and simplify that down like I am explaining it to someone who doesn't know anything about the topic. As the student begins to answer questions, and talk in the conversation, I can assess why the student is struggling and what part of the material they understand. We then drill into what is not being understood by the student and how to help the student get it all.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a student tutor at Stetson. I also have professional certifications, and am in investments every day. I am currently studying for the CFA exam, so I am up to date on what is being taught with regard to business classes.
