I have taught H.S. English for the last 6 yrs. I have also worked with elementary and middle school kids. I can work one-on-one with you, explaining and teaching the concepts you need to advance to the next level.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to find out where the student is academically and then move forward with helping the student grow.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree. I have taught high school for the last four years. I have also taught at the college level for 2.5 years.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at The Art Institute in Durham, then I taught at Central Piedmont Community College. I have taught high school for the last 4 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary and high school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are looking to hire an English teacher to help you with reading comprehension or writing an essay I would be glad to work with you. I can meet you at a central location or we can work online.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would suggest thinking about exactly what it is that you need help with.
