About
I am a senior Exercise Science major at UNC Charlotte. I love science and have always had a passion for biological sciences since I was young. My dad is an athletic trainer and I have grown up around him and other professionals in the field who have instilled this in me. I have made either Dean's list or Chancellor's list every semester that I have been in college. I took AP biology and AP chemistry in high school. I have complete numerous anatomy and physiology concentrated courses in college as part of my degree. I have also taken microbiology, chemistry II, and biochemistry in college. My goal is to help a student reach their goals by tutoring in a way that is receptive to the students learning styles and will give them the best opportunity for success.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is to understand the students learning style before beginning anything. Students are more likely to receive and comprehend information better if it satisfies their learning style. We will then look at the unit or subject you are currently studying and find areas you are confident in with the material and those that need some work. We will still spend time in the areas you are confident in to maintain your understanding and to motivate the student to continue in the other areas. Sciences almost always connect throughout a unit so finding confidence areas helps to connect the dots to the less confident areas. We will continue this process until the student feels they are confident in all of the material or has proven so on an assignment or exam/test. If the results are not what were expected then we will sit together and re-evaluate our preparation strategies then create new ones that will have a higher success rate.
