Jasmine E.

I am a baccalaureate candidate in Physics and Middle Eastern Languages at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. I have taught in formal and informal settings since 2018 and I have extensive background in physics, mathematics, biology, and English language and comprehension. I’ve had the opportunity to grow my knowledge base in laboratory settings, which gives me an edge in teaching that typically can only be acquired through practice of the scientific process, running experiments, and developing theoretical physics models. I have worked with K-12 students for 4+ years in Honors and AP Physics, Biology, English language, and Environmental Science. In high school, I founded my school's USA Biology Olympiad team and taught high school students college-level biology, chemistry, physical science, and Earth science to dozens of students. I led our team to first place in our district science competition, and started two other educational outreach initiatives teaching local middle school students environmental science and public health concepts to over 300+ students nationally. I work well with students who seek a deep understanding of material but need things explained in simple terms, and I am quick to respond to messages and inquiries by tutees and parents. Additionally, I specialize in College Admissions Counseling as an Ivy League admit and recipient of several scholarships, including a full ride.
