About
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from Elon University and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from UNC Chapel Hill. I am a licensed educator and school counselor with experience working with students across a variety of academic and developmental levels.
My background includes classroom teaching, school counseling, tutoring, and academic writing support. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Writing Center Consultant, where I helped students strengthen their writing, critical thinking, and communication skills. During my school counseling internship, I worked closely with high school students on college planning, application essays, academic goal setting, and postsecondary preparation.
As a native Mandarin speaker who is also fluent in English, I enjoy supporting English language learners and helping students build confidence in their communication skills. My graduate training in school counseling also provided a strong foundation in psychology, human development, motivation, learning theory, and student support.
I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities. My goal is not only to help students understand content but also to help them become more independent and successful learners.
