I love teaching music, reading, writing and culture. My teaching philosphy is to create lesson plans around how the student learns and how they best learn. As I work more with the student, I adapt and find real-life applications that they can relate to.
I've been teaching in many different forms in the past decade. Most recently I worked with middle schoolers at a literacy camp and many enjoyed reading in a way that they didn't at the start of the summer. This is mostly due to my teaching philosphy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With the inital meeting, I like for me and the student to get a feel for each other and what we want out of the sessions. I'll prepare some practice questions to cage what areas need to be worked on and also how best to tailor my teaching style to the student.
As we work together more, I like to check-ins to create a stress free way to evaluate where the student is instead of more formal types of testing.
