Inspired and empowered by equity-based pedagogy, I became an educator. Equity-focused pedagogy focuses on developing teaching strategies and cultivating classroom environments that better support all students, especially those who have been disadvantaged in school and the outside world. My pedagogy reflects inclusive culturally responsive teaching strategies, classroom environments and school cultures to help students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to thrive.
