How did you get started teaching?
Started out of passion for teaching. Taught first time, while finishing my Masters in 1993. Then taught college undergrads and professionals for some time.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly students in high school and colleges, who had either trouble with the subjects or were preparing for the standard exams like GMAT or GRE.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Teaching my 9yrs old son (and his friends sometime).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher who can help you understand the fundamentals of a subject Rest you can do yourself. I was lucky to find some of the best teachers when I was studying.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
-Write down whcih subject challenges you
-What specific topics you find challenging
-How do you currently overcome these challeges
-What format works best for you, e.g. reading, storytelling, visual demonstration, group learning etc.
