Bonjour/Hola! My name is Laura Stark and I've been working with students (ages 10-70!) for over 20 years. I build each student's confidence as I patiently guide them during their French and Spanish lessons. My students experience success and this brings me great joy! Since COVID I have been using Zoom to provide virtual lessons.

I LOVE seeing my students gain confidence and enjoy their learning as they improving their French and Spanish. I tailor each lesson to my students' needs and learning styles. Working with students has always been my hobby and I believe this comes through when I teach. :)

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is for 20 minutes and is free of charge. I spend time getting to know my students, their learning style, their goals and concerns. This helps me to make a positive connection with them from the very beginning and helps me to serve them better.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from UNC Chapel Hill. I have taught all levels of French and Spanish to all age groups for over 20 years, both in the classroom and as a language tutor. I have also taught English conversation in France. I currently volunteer where I use my Spanish to help adult students learn English.
