Abstract Lit Tutoring
About
I am sixteen, so I work exclusively with kids in high school or middle school, because I have first-hand experience in the types of literature classes that schools can offer.
I'm not a professional, but I do have a history of succeeding and enjoying the literature classes thrown my way, which is why I'd love to tutor some other students who need my help.
Everyone deserves the chance to learn, and to get help if they don't understand something. Sometimes (regretfully), some teachers aren't willing to do both. If students need extra help on a topic, I'd love to be there for them, to help them go the extra mile and succeed in whatever is stopping them from doing so.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask them what they need the most help on, and start with that. Normally, the first session will be working on helping the student understand what they don't at school, be it a book, a project, or an essay, then moving on to my personal plan that prepares the student for what school may throw at them.
However, using one process for every student is claiming that every student is the same, which they are not. This makes it difficult to define a teaching process when each session is personalized to fit the student's needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a junior in high school with a history of excellence in English curriculums, and I've tutored middle schoolers for free. I've worked as a counselor in training for multiple YMCA summer camps.
