Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually, when working with a new student, we introduce ourselves and get to know them to create a safe space. After that, we ask the student or parent where is the issue with their studies. We tackle the problem by helping the student and then later test them to see progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a sophomore in college maintaining a 4.0 GPA and my major is computer science. I have also taken outside classes on children and abuse as well as protection tactics such as first aid/CPR and AED.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We are a Non-Profit Organization so our services are completely FREE; However, if one wishes to donate anything, it is welcomed.
How did you get started teaching?
I noticed I wanted to teach when I would volunteer at my godchildren school and get them a head start by teaching them at home.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children ages 3-14. I have also had children with different styles of learning.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of was a mentorship program I participated in. We had adventure and I got two new mentees which I am growing to love and care for.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise students to look for and hire someone they can be comfortable with, not only seeking help with school but also talking to. Mental health play a big role in focusing in education.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We welcome all questions because we will never know if the student actually knows it; however, I do encourage students to ask any questions regarding services before starting the sessions.
