About

Hi! My name is Isabella Pittman and I am a recent graduate of Belhaven University with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. I have always had a passion for helping others to learn, particularly after I served as a teacher's aide in history, science, and art during high school. I continued to pursue educational outreach in college, where I served as President of the American Chemical Society Belhaven Chapter. Through the ACS, my teammates and I reached hundreds of local students through STEM educational outreach and on-campus Chemistry labs. During this time, I also served as a middle-school Math tutor in addition to helping my college classmates with math and science homework. It is a joy to share what I have learned from my education in the STEM!

What I enjoy most about teaching is the ability to show students that topics within STEM do not have to be difficult or scary! During elementary school, I also struggled with math and science, so I can relate to students who need help in those areas!

I have my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Belhaven University. I graduated summa cum laude in May of 2020. During that time, I served as President and Secretary of the Belhaven American Chemical Society Student Chapter, an organization that seeks to encourage STEM education throughout the community through science demonstrations and student-run labs. Through ACS, we were able to reach hundreds of students through oppportunities at local elementary and high schools and the MS Museum of Natural Science.

My standard rate is $35/hour for elementary school science and math and $40/hour for high school science and math/ ACT prep.

In high school, I worked part time as a elementary school teacher's aide in science, history, and art. My involvement in teaching increased during college when I joined the American Chemical Society Belhaven Chapter, an organization through which I participated in STEM educational outreach in the Jackson area.

I have worked with students of almost every age range, spanning from elementary school to the collegiate level.
