MVG MTNS Tutoring Company
My tutoring style is very personal; I work to get to know the student's interests, strengths, weaknesses, and goals so that I know exactly how to help them take interest in what they're learning or reviewing. I work closely with both the teacher and the parents so that I can not only stay current on what the student is learning but I can also prepare them for the upcoming assignments and assessments.
My favorite part about the work that I do as a full time tutor is the fact that I am benefiting both the student and their regular classroom intructor. When I was a teacher with 90+ students rotating out of my classroom each day, I was unable to give the personalized help to my students as often as I wanted. My work as a tutor alievates some of the challenges and the time constraints that the regular teacher faces. As a tutor, I am able to create a personalized plan to aid each individual student, and I am also able to dedicate the extra time that, sadly, most classroom teachers do not have.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from one of the first completely virtual school curriculums, A Beka Academy. Soon after that, I attended and graduated from Pensacola Christian College with both my B.A. in Youth Ministries and my M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration. I taught for two years in both the Christian and Public school systems and I have over 300 logged tutoring hours as a remedial English tutor for the Boys and Girls Club of Covington County.
I do not have my formal teaching certificate as of yet, however I am in the process of completing the requirements for certification with the National Tutoring Association.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer both in-person tutoring sessions as well as virtual tutoring session for the same standard price of $25 per hour tutoring session per student; however, if the family has two or more students, the price is combined and lowered to $40 for each tutoring hour for the combined price of all students.
I do not mind driving up to 70 miles away for an in-person tutoring session, however the student will need to schedule for a two hour session minimum and the price will be $35 per hour.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A tutor is a different type of teacher; tutors have the time to get to know you, your strengths, weaknesses, and your interests. My advice would be to look for a tutor who is not only professional but also relatable. The ideal tutor is someone who gets to know you and your unique background and creates a learning plan that is personalized to your specific learning needs.
