Spanish Tutoring
About
I am a Spanish native speaker and I also a hold a Spanish major from Westminster College. In college I was also President of the Spanish Club, where I led a series of activies to engage students in Latin American culture. As someone who has had to learn a new language myself, I know it can be hard and I believe one of the best ways to get better at it is to find fun and engaging ways to practice. I am flexible and patient and aware that everyone has different ways to approach learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first like to get to know the student and what their goals are. Here we would discuss what material the student has been exposed to, and/or what level of proficiency they have. I also ask what the student would want from me, and from there we can go into tailoring a study plan to works for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a native Spanish speaker and I also graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Spanish with a translation track.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring in college and kept it going as a side job.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about what areas they are seeking to improve on. For example, maybe a student struggles maintaining a conversation in Spanish and wants to improve that. In that case, my approach would be to focus on that area. Additionally, students should communicate with me what works best for them when it comes to learning.
