About

It is thrilling to me to work with a student and see the look on their face when it all finally clicks. I fully believe patience, breaking lessons into bite-sized pieces, continuous practice, and encouragement are the keys to helping children succeed. Each student is different, and we adapt to their learning style, instead of throwing rote material and hoping something sticks!

I absolutely love watching kids grasp a subject they hated. Watching their confidence grow is the highlight of our sessions. My daughter went from hating reading to winning a national reading contest, the writing class I taught her earned her an invitation to be in a college department for writing, and my son learned to read at 2 years old.

We love Creating Confident Kids! She helped my 7th grader pass her math and language class. She is both personable and skilled at bringing out the best in her students. She makes sure the student understands each concept. We saw a drastic improvement in assignments and exams!

    Frequently asked questions

Our end goal is not only better grades. It's also about making friends with the class we struggle in, and as that confidence grows, the anxiety eases.
The first step is establishing trust and listening to what they like/don't like about their struggle subject. I like to look at their work and see their strengths/weaknesses through my eyes. Because each child is different and learns differently, there cannot be a "one size fits all" agenda. While each session is fluid, there are a few constants: remaining patient, finding a way to make the material personal, and breaking each lesson into pieces they grasp and are able to build on. As the relationship grows, it becomes easier to see their learning style, and apply that to each session.

I have tutored since I was in high school, and not only did I teach in several co-ops, I homeschooled both of my children for 12 years, teaching my son to read at 2, and my daughter winning a national reading contest. I also have taught writing classes at home, and I'm currently tutoring 2 children I absolutely adore!

I'm not in this to get rich. I have a passion for watching kids begin to understand whatever it is they need help with, and I would always be completely fair. Parents need a break from the stress, not to have more added.

I homeschooled my children 12 years.
