Learning Helper
About
I have tutored students close to me as well as peer tutoring at school for a few years. I've experienced the public school system firsthand and know it isn't built for every student. It's a one size fits all institution. This can make it harder for students who need extra help or who struggle with a learning disability. I don't believe in one size fits all. Every student has different needs and I want to help them reach their full potential by making school something they can understand and apply to life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to learn about who they are and what their interests include. I ask either them or their parent how they are struggling in their classes. Then I talk to them about where they are in their studies and where they need to be. Then I walk them through a typical assignment that they might have trouble with seeing how they work through it. I then formulate an outline of sorts and work with them to find out which way of learning the material will work best with them.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge a rate of 10-15 dollars an hour depending on the frequency of sessions and level of education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with autism, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, as well as students throughout many different grade levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who you know will give the time it takes to work with you and will lift you up when you work rather than tear you down if you get it wrong.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is keeping me from achieving what I want in class?
Are my problems based on a lack of understanding or lack of motivation?
