Hi, I’m Lora! I am a writer and editor who is passionate about education and helping students find their academic voice. I am a graduate of Oxford University, where I received a Master’s degree in Russian and East European Studies. I also have an undergraduate Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I believe something that is crucial to academic success at any level is learning HOW to learn—that is not always easy, and doesn’t always come naturally! School should not be a struggle, but finding your academic voice can be difficult, especially if you don’t know where to start. How to write essays, answer questions, do research—all of these are skills that are learned. Once you identify your learning style, you can develop study skills that work best for you, as an individual.

I have experience teaching and tutoring students at many levels, ranging from middle school to university. I can help with English/language arts, history, social studies, sociology, international studies, and political science. I can also help with developing study skills, essay writing, and test prep. I would love to take the experience I have to help you achieve your highest potential and find academic success.

Every person has their own strengths and brings a unique perspective to the table—so, how do you use that individuality as a student? I truly enjoy working with students to help them identify their own personal learning styles and develop the skills they need to achieve success. Discovering and creating your academic voice can be a challenge, but it should also be exciting. My goal is to help others discover their own abilities and build the confidence needed to learn and grow as a student.
