XYZ Math Tutoring
About
My name is Augustus, and I'm a recent college graduate. I studied computer science and physics, and I want to teach others what I know. I have helped students at the college, high school, and grade-school levels. I have a hands-on conversational approach. I adapt my curriculum to the needs of my students, and evaluate their understanding in a dynamic interactive way.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First assess aptitude in the area that the student is having difficulty with. Then teach concepts using interactive lessons. Next, demonstrate how to complete practice problems, and lastly have the student explain out loud as they apply their learning. We repeat these steps until it is clear that mastery has been achieved
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a freshman in Applied Mathematics in University. I took AP Calculus AB and BC equivalents in high school and am the top of my class. I have 3 years experience tutoring my peers in high school and college.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first lesson is free. All subsequent lessons are $20/h
What types of students have you worked with?
I have experience helping students who are gifted in math and who are struggling with it. It is easier for me to work with students who want to be "good" at math but lack confidence.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher that teaches to your learning style, and will work with you on the areas that you find the most important in your education
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to get out of our lessons? How often will you need lessons in order for the help to be effective? What areas have you been having trouble with?
