About

I truly enjoy having the chance to work with students in a subject that, frankly, many do not enjoy. There is a real satisfaction in helping someone overcome their fear of the daunting subject of math and helping them become comfortable with it.

    Frequently asked questions

Initially, I like to give the students an assessment to understand what they know and what they need help with in order to progress. Once I have an understanding of where they are with the subject, I create a plan for them that focuses on the area(s) where they need improvement, while keeping up their abilities in the area(s) where they are strong.

I have an undergraduate degree in statistics from the University of Missouri and a minor in mathematics.

I have tutored math, statistics, and even personal finance from elementary to university level students.

Pricing can be set based on the subject and the needs of the student.

I began tutoring in college and continued doing so after graduating.

I have worked with students across many ages, races, nationalities, abilities, leaning disabilities, and more!

I once had a student who struggled with confidence in their abilities. At the end of the session, I asked this student to write down what they had learned during the session. They wrote that they did not believe they could succeed in mathematics until I told them they could. After that, the student became more confident and began to see noticable progress.

Math can be a daunting subject. Do not let this discourage you! See it as a challenge and an opportunity to overcome an obstacle, coming out a stronger student afterword.

Students should think about where they are struggling in their subject before talking to teachers about their needs. Oftentimes, students want to work on problems that they are already comfortable with. While this is certainly enjoyable, the real growth in a subject occurs when the student honestly evaluates where their weak points are, and then engages in working on those exact areas.
