Daniel Crasnow
About
Good day, my name is Daniel Crasnow. I am a published poet, author, and essayist born and raised in Central Florida. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University in May 2020 with an English Major, and Minors in History, Philosophy, and Creative Writing. My teaching career has includes ESL work abroad, elementary school-level reading and comprehension tutoring at every grade level, and Collegiate-level Essay Writing at home. My work career expands beyond that into Advertising, Technical Writing, Editing, Literary Criticism, and Publishing work as well. My history work has focused on Modern European History, though I am also proficient in Ancient European History, American History, Cultural Criticism, Modern History, American Government structure, and more. My philosophical work includes Ethics, Philosophy of Law, Ancient and Modern philosophy, the Philosophy of Language, Eastern Philosophy, and beyond. I've found that the difficulty involved in these liberal arts tends to extend from a book-based, rigid, and distant system. History, Philosophy, and English all thrive in the context of active conversation. It's the same reason that reading out loud can tell us more about our writing than reading silently can tell us. By actively engaging students one-on-one, I hope I can provide that nuanced, detailed, particular, and focused approach that is often lacking in large classes and book-based work. I hope I will have the chance to work with you :)
