K-College Math And Spanish Tutoring
About
My degrees in Spanish and business have built excellent communication skills which I pride myself upon in creating a personalized approach with each student. I am a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and have also tutored high schoolers for the ACT.
The most exciting part of the job is seeing students grow in confidence and tackle subjects boldly! I have tutored since I was in high school in Saint Louis and enjoy empowering students through education.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have a conversation with a new student about their goals, timeline, and current approach to their work. I observe their work in its current state which leads us to create a study plan together. The first meeting is usually a goal-setting meeting, after which I create a calendar with plans for each subsequent meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a substitute teacher in the Kirkwood School district and hold degrees in Spanish and business administration. I have tutored students in math (K-12), Spanish, and specifically for the ACT.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are flexible but usually stick around $25 an hour. If I am traveling in order to meet the student, that price can increase depending on the distance of travel.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring when I was in high school and found that students responded well to my approach. It was very rewarding to see students gain understanding by simply explaining subjects or problems in a new way.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in grades K-12, as well as college Spanish and statistics students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have recently moved back to Saint Louis after graduating with my MBA from Mizzou. It is great to be back!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise students to choose a teacher with whom they get along with in addition to being a qualified educator. In my experience, I am more likely to listen and respond to someone who respects me as a student than someone to whom I cannot relate well.
Education should not be anxiety-inducing -- certain teachers believe students need to feel anxiety to learn well. My goal is to empower students to feel confident in their abilities and tackle their work fearlessly.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about what strategies they have tried already and what did or did not work about those strategies. They should also think about their time management approach and their goals for the course or subject.
