Harvard Graduate Tutor (University Prep, Reading, Grammar, Writing, Humanities, Social Sciences, EFL, Japanese, And Spanish)
About
I'm a graduate of Harvard University (A.B. in Government, 2010), former Research Assistant through Harvard Divinity School, and former administrator at Harvard's Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics who also has experience studying in both Peru and Japan. I've worked as a university prep tutor for over two years, specializing in the humanities, social sciences, English reading and writing, and English as a foreign language. I also teach both Spanish and Japanese as a foreign language, having worked as a translator of both.
In terms of services, I specialize in the SAT I Verbal (Reading, Writing and Language, and Essay), SAT II U.S. History, World History, Literature, Spanish, and Japanese, TOEFL, and GRE Verbal (Analytical Writing and Verbal Reasoning).
I also provide application packet consulting to those looking to take their studies to the next level.
I frequently work with clients who speak English as a foreign language and therefore have unique needs. In our lessons together, I do my best to explain concepts clearly and concisely, breaking down complex information into digestible chunks and coaching my students as they develop their own personal capacities for study. It is incredibly satisfying when I see a client gain confidence in their ability to master what once seemed difficult; the chance to give this gift to my students is what likewise inspires me to grow as a teacher.
