Learning should be exciting. Every subject provides the opportunity to find a different view of the world. I tutor in order to help students find what each subject can show them about the world. As such, I am willing to tailor lesson format to best assist my students.
I have TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification and eight years of experience teaching at a martial arts school. Additonally, I have Bachelor's degrees in molecular biology and Mandarin Chinese and am pursuing a MS in Translation.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All people learn differently, so each student will best benefit from a different system. To establish this, I start by asking for a new student's goals and preferred study methods, as well as how much time they are able to devote independently.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from age 3 to age 80 across subject areas such as physical activity, English, and the sciences.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a tutor who you get along with and respect. Look for tutors whose teaching method gives you a lightbulb moment.
