SKILLS I USE WITH STUDENTS: Positive encouragement, using interests and creativity to teach through challenging material, employs a sense of humor and empathy to break through reluctance and apathy, values honesty and accountability vs false flattery, happy to incorporate games/fun to assist with memorization such as math facts, techniques, etc.

SKILLS I USE WITH FAMILIES: proactive and teamwork approach when discussing challenges, happy to provide as much or as little feedback as requested, happy to provide additional resources/research additional resources to help

EXPERIENCE: While I am new to professional tutoring, I am not new to elementary, middle school, and high-school academic and mental needs. We have fostered elementary and middle school children and have assisted with academic success during that time. We have provided respite for high schoolers and have helped with their academics as well. I currently nanny and care for children of all age; when I've worked with elementary and older, I've assisted through tutoring as well.

TRAINING:

I have training in trauma-informed care giving, educational credits in child developments, and have received coaching in working with kids several grade levels behind or with emotional/behavioral needs.
