About
I am passionate about reading and writing and have been a highly successful public school teacher for more than 25 years. I am also a published journalist, and have written close to 50 newspaper and magazine articles. A Barnard College graduate, I have helped dozens of high school students write their college essays for successful admission to schools including the University of Wisconsin-Madison to Harvard, Yale, and Duke. I view myself as a writing teacher for all ages, and all genres.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love teaching children, middle- and high-schoolers, and adults. I try to tap into my student's "inner writer," teaching structure and voice along the way. I also help students at all levels become better readers
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Montessori-trained, and know how to meet the student where they are.
