Goddard Chinese Tutoring
About
Hello! I am a friendly current student with 11 years of Mandarin Chinese experience, so I really do understand the learning process. I've passed the HSK level 5, as well as taken the Mandarin Oral Proficiency Interview and recieved an Advanced score. I've also done intensive study for the AP Chinese Language and Culture Test. I can pass on helpful tips and tricks for any of these tests, or we can take it slow and start from the basics!
I love teaching and practicing Mandarin with others! Connecting with new cultures is one of the greatest gifts you can have. Fully conquering new words, or reading a new book is one of the best feelings, so I love passing that feeling onto new people.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Goals are so important! I'm a strong proponent of making goals and tracking them as we improve. As we get to know each other, I will adapt to your learning style. There are 8 major learning tactics: Logical-mathematical, intrapersonal, interpersonal, linguistic, spatial, naturalist, musical, and bodily-kinesthetic. Each requires a special learning plan that I will walk you through to study smart, not hard.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied at a Chinese Immersion school for 9 years, and have continued by studies into high school. I was involved in a peer tutoring program, and am looking to expand my work.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching after I noticed that helping out friends get the grades that they wanted can be really life changing. After that, I've been using any free time to gain knowledge on teaching methods and learning types to improve my methods.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've mostly worked with peers who are trying to improve their skills for a certain class. I also volunteered with the Tutor Thy Neighbor Program to tutor people in the Somali Community.
