Online Chemistry Tutor & Test Prep Expert/2021 Best Of Tutors Certification
About
A good teacher starts with a love for learning, and I definitely have that! I have a Master's degree in Chemistry/Education, and I have been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years. I'm proud to have received the best of tutors certification as well. I love to learn new things, and I have a real passion for helping others. It is so satisfying to me to see my students grow and accomplish what they never thought they could.
I enjoy working with all kinds of students from middle school all the way up to adults. I especially find satisfaction in seeing those students who previously thought they could never do well gradually progress to a point where they greatly exceed those expectations. Seeing students grow in a love of learning and being able to share that with them is what makes teaching worthwhile.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will be able to help new students best if I know in advance the topic or concepts that they need help with. If students can share questions or materials they are struggling with prior to our meeting, that will allow me to prepare and make the best use of our time together. If this is not a possibility, don't worry as we will work through the material together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
M.S. in Chemistry/Education
Certified AP Chemistry and MCAT General Chemistry Instructor
Over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My fee is generally $30/hour. This includes the time spent with me during tutoring sessions as well as some opportunity to discuss follow-up questions via email.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching chemistry in 1991 and left the education industry for a time to work as an industrial analytical chemist. I earned my M.S. in Chemistry/Education and returned to teaching in 2001, and currently teach part-time while raising my family.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a full spectrum of students at differing levels of backgrounds and abilities-from the high school level to collegiate/graduate student level.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I suggest that students look for a teacher with a high level of education, experience, and expertise in his/her field of study. In addition, students should feel confident in a teacher's ability to not only know the material well, but be able to share that knowledge with students. Therefore, teacher licensure/certification is an important part of an instructor's background to consider as well.
