I love, love, love math, and I'm ready to help! My name is Will, and I'm a graduate of the University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program. I'm also a coach for Rochester Math Club. I am knowledgeable in topics up to and including multivariable calculus, but I am available even for arithmetic. Math has interested me ever since I was in elementary school. It makes sense that I would want to help others appreciate it as much as I do. One of my favorite feelings is solving a complex problem— it's a rush of euphoria and relief. Of course, sometimes one just needs to learn enough to pass the test, and I understand that as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know them first— it's extremely useful to know the best approach to take, even before we discuss any content.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As I said in my bio, I recently graduated from the UMTYMP program. I'm also an inexperienced Python programmer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30-65 per hour (but usually around $35), depending on the depth and intensity of the course material and specifics. This puts me on the relatively cheap end of tutors.com. If I'm just getting to know a student, I don't include that in pricing. The price is always set before instruction, although it may change if agreed upon by the student and me.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Specific questions about the material are always appreciated: "how do I compute eigenvectors" rather than "I'm stuck on matrix algebra." Also, if you have a favorite learning style or technique, by all means, feel free to share!
