About
My goal is to help students K-12 discover the wonders of creative writing and the beauties of literature.
I am currently studying Computer Science at a rigorous technical university, but have loved reading and writing since I was very young. I believe that creative input and creative expression are critical to the development of the human mind, and my experience using writing and literature as expressive outlets while studing dense technical subject matter has reinforced this idea for me.
All students are welcome!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student depends on what the student is coming to me for. If they want help with creative writing, we'll discuss some creative ideas and find a path for them to get started on. If they want help with editing and revision, we'll discuss the broad strokes of the piece they want to revise before gradually moving into the details. Learning to work with each student's individual needs is one of my favorite things about teaching!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took advanced English and Composition classes throughout my high school education, and did very well in all of them, learning a lot along the way. In university I took English requirements along with my technical cirriculum, and met some fantastic professors whose inspiration led me to this job. Present during each of these periods were my independednt explorations of literature and writing, which taught me more than any formal course.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50/hr, but am flexible with this price.
How did you get started teaching?
My first formal teaching experience was being a TA for a Computer Science course during my freshman year at the University of Minnesota.
