Frequently asked questions

I give a lecture first then solve some sample propblems, and in the end I will ask the student to solve some problems on his/her own while I am watching to see what he/she is doing. I will assign some homework and discuss it during the next session.

I have Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Minnesota. I have been teaching Math at all levels (high school, undergraduare, and graduate) for the past 30 years.

It depends on the subject.

I always loved teaching and when my professor asked me to be his Teaching Assistant I accepted. That was the beginning and I never stopped.

High school, College (Undergraduate, and Graduate).

There is not much happening while one teaches online. One thing I remember is that I taught for 50 miniutes not realizing that the microphone was not working. Students could not hear me, but since I always write whatever I say on the board they could still understand and enjoyed the lecture ;)

Teaching experience is the most inportant thing, but without enthusiasm, students will not enjoy the subject and the lectures.

I would say: The instructor must love the subject he is teaching.

1) How much preparation do I have? For instance, for Calculus one must know enough algebra to be successful.

2) How much time do you expect me to spend on problems per week?
