Former AP / IB Physics Teacher
About
I taught AP / IB Physics for several years in St. Paul, as well as some regular high school physics. Also taught Algebra I through Calculus in small-town Louisiana through the Teach For America program.
My students performed well on the IB and AP tests. But what I'm really proud of is that students who signed up for physics just so they could meet a requirement and be done with science, would get excited about physics, and then sign up for a second year. (Yes, I was lucky enough to be able to start a second-year physics course.)
My approach to teaching and tutoring is simple: I ask questions to figure out where you're at, what you already have a handle on, and what, if anything, is blocking you. We deal with the block if there is one. Then we work things through so that you've got some comfort and confidence with the topic at hand. Not very fancy, but it works.
